Mobility centres

They are facilities that offer all disabled customers concrete help in order to solve problems relating to driving a vehicle adapted to everyone's specific capacities . At each Centre the customer can test his or her residual motor skills by means of special simulators, become familiar with the modified vehicles and ask doctors, physiotherapists and centre's operators for an opinion. The Mobility Centres set up by Fiat have the aim of ensuring that everyone has the opportunity, concretely and free of charge, to test and improve the quality of their movements. For further information contact: Fiat Group Automobiles Mobility Centres' Coordination Phone 055/331459 and 055/3215537 attended on weekdays from 8.30 a.m. to 5.30 p.m. Disabled customers have driving simulators at their disposal in order to assess their residual motor skills exactly and modified vehicles for practising driving for the first time or for comparing the new conversions with the possessed ones. After attending a Mobility Centre, the disabled person can obtain a certificate that will facilitate the task of the local Medical Board when examining him in order to assess his capacity for driving. A driving simulator is a sophisticated electronic instrument for assessing the motor, visual and cognitive skills of disabled people, and enables them to familiarise themselves with the equipment they will be using in their cars.
